Re: End of the road for the Ford Fiesta

Never had a Fiesta, my first car was a Escort, 2nd car was an Escort, but more Sporty version. Third car, Ford Focus ST, fourth car, moved away from Ford, they’re really shit at Electrics, all kinds of stuff failed in all my Fords. Got sick of it and went with Citroen C4, 5th and current car.. Citroen DS3, Fuel economy came factor in my last two cars.

I’ve been on my travels this week and came across a street furnished with these, installed on the lamp posts:

There are 40 of them installed around Wirral borough at present. Seemingly they’re running a pilot scheme to gauge how they’re used. Because of this they’re currently free to use. Great if you happen to live near one!

Good idea, but probably somewhat annoying for the occupants of No.24

Probably no more than any other street parking…

True, around large chunks of Leeds it's terrible as you'll know although the vicinity of a communal charging point right outside your house could result in an orderley queue forming so there would be no respite.

My Dad had a Fiesta on a 20 plate, I'm just wondering with this news now if its gonna be difficult to sell or not, or maybe keep it and sell his BMW instead.

Its not likely to make it more difficult, might even make it easier in the long run, people like them.

It's definitely a sellers market at the moment, you should get a good price whichever you sell.

I'd get shot of the fiesta, they haven't been all that since 2016, we have four of them and a van at work and the oldest is 3 years 1 month old the newest 11 months, we finished a shift a few weeks back with every single one of the road

So the final ones are leaving the factory...

I bet whatever replaces the Fiesta (and most likely electric) will be a lot more expensive!

It’s almost as if you chose to totally ignore the entire discussion about vehicle pricing further up this thread.

Well aware prices go up with new technology and will eventually go down but initially I am guessing it will be harder for people to buy due to the higher price.
And I don't see much of a second hand market for electric cars.
