I'm glad you asked this question. I'm looking at ways to cut down the hours of my cleaner and was considering this as an option.

The installation of a dishwasher was a good investment. Now if only they would invent something that does the ironing :D

People still iron?

I just hang my shirts on a hanging after washing machine and hang on drying rack.

I insist that she irons shirts etc, but aren't bothered about things such as underwear.

I no longer have her ironing bedding in an effort to cut down on electricity use and make more efficient use of her time.

If you’re that bothered, iron them yourself…

I'm assuming that your days in the RAF will mean that you were trained to iron, alas I haven't been so lucky.

This is a good solution, it's what we do to, except annoyingly we didn't get a refurbished one :(

Training? It's not a fihghter jet! Very east to use.

I've got a small cordless vacuum cleaner which is good after the kids have had breakfast.

My sister-in-law showed me before I joined up, and practice makes adequate.

This may help in your training - I iron shirts/polo shirts/T-shirts in a different sequence (collars, sleeves/cuffs, front left, back/yoke, front right), but the end result is the same…

I couldn't manage it these days, but have to admit that, even before I became disabled, I outsourced this task as I didn't have the inclination to iron.
