This to me was screaming software corruption but yes it never hurts to keep an eye on disk health

Do not think I would trust a program not been updated since 2004 to check an SSD that did not exist then. But each to their own

Crystal Disk Info will help. It will flag any issues. As will HD Tune. Or AOMEI Partition Assistant. There's lots of free disk checking tools. Pick one and give it a go.
