No, all new TV customers get TV 360 and MultiRoom boxes are the minibox.

Does anyone know the result of the wifi mini box trial?

Also when they are likely to be available?

If it's the trial/pilot I'm thinking of it was only for "Broadband-only" customers. Whether that's who it's for if it fully launches remains to be seen.

I was also under impression it wasn't a product that would be mixed with the conventional TV product as it it was aimed at a customer with different needs. So they wouldn't be mixing this streaming-only service in a way that it would link with TV360 boxes, even though they are seemingly both using Horizon. Maybe that had changed (or never was, it was an impression I got from what was said at the time).

Why would a wifi TV box be supplied to 'Broadband-only' customers??

Assuming it's the same trial/pilot, and it probably is, it was suggested at the time that it was designed to be aimed at (a gap in the market of) people who are only a little interested in TV and would never go for a full proper package, as they are mainly interested in On-Demand Apps. People who only have Broadband from VM are typically the sort that fall into this category. They gave the impression it wasn't a full service and was mostly Apps.

And it wouldn't take much of a change to allow all customers to use it eventually, so they can scale the service up at a comfortable rate rather than have too much demand and it impact service quality. It could well launch to all customers, and it could also be expanded to a full service. I'd discount nothing, companies change their minds between pilots and launches.

Are there plans to replace all the V6 boxes?

V6 boxes will likely eventually all become 360 boxes.

They need to give plenty warning if they go that route, unless they've managed a way to keep recordings intact.

Yes there would be notice but remember that all V+ HD boxes got swapped to TiVo or V6 without keeping any settings or recordings.

To my recollection, most people were off that platform by then and got plenty notice in that instance. And customers think of it differently when they are getting new hardware, a software update comes with different expectations, even when you get a new remote control.

Never mind V6s , what about Tivo's? Tempted to accidentally break mine. Maybe that's why I haven't been given a price rise this year ;)

Currently you'll get another TiVo.

Do you have any idea of when this is likely to happen?

That's a different situation than if it breaks.
