I’ve watched most of the first episode - quite impressed so far!

There's also other means of watching it.:D

The first one certainly gets quite spectacularly towards the end :)

Old Boy I was replying in the context of The Expanse which General Maximus mentioned and I said I'd likely never see that because The Expanse is on Amazon in UK.

I'm going to watch Foundation this week sometime, probably when I've finished Dickenson, also on Apple TV+.

Good. Any indication how many books they are doing per series? Is S1 book 1 in its entirety?

Only watched first episode so far. Very impressed, though the galaxy isn't the way I pictured it, then or now (currently on Book 3). All the various factions are more varied and more colourful. In my head it was more Buck Rogers/Battlestar Reboot/Caprica, with a certain uniformity of worlds and their peoples (and I read the first book before the latter two shows I mentioned existed), and maybe a smattering of Dune film (1984).

Probably for the best though, it makes it visually different than the usual look of space epics TV and Film audiences are used to. If it looked generic, those unfamiliar with the books would probably dismiss it straight away and not sample the show.

fantastic. We are only 3 eps in but I love it; proper pure quality scifi.

I'm just glad it's "big idea" sci-fi, not so much of that getting made. Hopefully it gets a chance to complete the "original trilogy" at least.

I'm trying to be as unspecific as possible in the following bit so not to spoil anything.

Based on what the showrunner said in the S2 announcement they clearly aren't finishing Book 1 in S1 but will hit Book 2 in S2 (as they mentioned a particular character). Though I get impression they'll only do the first time period of B2 based on pace of S1 and the character mentioned.

yup, what a superb series. It makes you wish the entire series had aired so we could have the luxury of binge watching it.
