1)Be used to save lives immediately - organs/tissues anything
2)Be used to save lives in longer run - scientific study, storage
3)Be used in training.
4)Be disposed of free for my family not to have to pay to get rid of a shell.

BUT
While 1) is easy the others less so. I'd like to simply say that whatever unit is closest to me at my death gets the corpse you can't. You need a pre-existing agreement with one unit and need to change that if you move, it closes etc. What if I die on holiday?

1) rules out 2),3), & 4).

Checkk out the pdf. I uploaded.

But that is for one medical unit and lots of exclusions. I don't want to arrange with one unit, I want a more general statement along lines of body is taken to nearest teaching unit and used as they want. If they don't want it dump it however they would dispose of any other unclaimed body.
Basically I don't want my family to pay anything to dispose of my body. If they want a service/wake etc that's fine but they don't need my shell there.

I agree with your sentiments.

Quite, they can twang me into a tree once I'm gone.

Don't Christians have to be buried anymore?

I cant imagine what they would want from someone who died of old age ?

I can't imagine so either but maybe? It depends on the health of the organ I guess? But if it has several years left in it it might be worth giving to an equivalently aged patient? Sure, they're not getting the heart of a fit 24-year-old who died in an accident but they still might get years of life they didn't have previously?

Maybe there should be opt-in Extra where families can't overrule the decreased person's wishes?

It's long overdue, there's an opt out so no problem surely? However people need to make their wishes clear to their next of kin. Being asked about organ donation is too much for many families.in the midst of grief. But if they knew beforehand that would help

However if you choose to opt out maybe you should be low priority if you need a transplant yourself.

Just when I though you were posting sensibly, you prove otherwise. :dozey:

It's in the English language, reasonably formatted and fairly comprehensible from where I'm sitting.

I believe he is intimating that if you don’t put in (be willing to donate) you should be at the end of the queue when donated organs are available.

Not sure i'd want anything donated from someone so bitter and twisted, perhaps recipients should be able to vet the donor first.
