It could be because you have a mixed memory configuration. Try removing the 2x2gb sticks and see if it reports the 8gb the same as it is now.

Have a read through this for more info. https://superuser.com/questions/5615...d-in-windows-7

Checked the manual, it does not specify 8GB DIMM support, so the 8GB may be also locking out the 2GB on the same channel - maybe in this context, "Hardware Reserved" means present but inaccessible.

So the other option is try just the pair of 2GB.

If so, you can add another pair of 2's dirt cheap from CEX £2.50 a piece, to get to 8GB

Thanks @Matth, Yeah it seems to have been an issue with the 8GB and now shows the hardware is reserving a lot less memory.

Funky do you use Facebook? there is a group on there i've been a member for around 3 years https://www.facebook.com/groups/322264191317005/

It's called PC and PC parts for sale UK

If you put in your budget on that there will be plenty of people giving advice or have things for sale

You might hit up a 750ti for £50 Sales are usually done through PayPal goods and services so you are covered with PP protection.

I've sold a few things on there over the last few years. My most recent a faulty PSU for £7 they want it for parts so you can pretty much sell anything
