Not sure what you mean?

I know what that option does and doesn't cover - it's specifically to open files and folders in Windows. It is not designed to be a global option to make a double click a single click in everything.

A custom mouse button assignment would cover more than just files and folders as it sends the true 'double click' mouse command when you press a button once.

Give a specific instance of where it doesn't work other than where in-game options would overide it. I've been using single click since XP.

I was specifically talking about in-game as that's what Alan said he did, and I was making an assumption that's where the double click mapping would be useful, as gaming mice tend to have a lot of keystroke and action customisation for speed of gaming.

But if you want a specific example - in the Spotify desktop app. You can double click to start a song playing back. This is still the same after changing the Folder setting. Same applies to the Groove Music app and iTunes. The double click action still remains a double click action.

That behaviour would be the same on Windows 7 too as the Folder click options behaviour hasn't changed and it's only ever applied to the files and folders right back to Windows 98

As I said earlier I don't use windows 10 so I cannot verify anything with regards to it. Once support ends for Windows 7 I'm off to Linux.
