Despite the claim that this new party would be centrist, I believe they will actually be a soft Leftist party, but as long as they didn't systematically destroy the economy, there are worse things that could happen.

When Tony Blair moved the Labour Party toward the center, they got two of the largest majorities ever. Even Gordon Brown got a larger majority than Theresa May has ever achieved. Jeremy Corbyn has never had a general election majority.

I would argue most people are a combination of left and right. These people are not really being served by either the Tories or Labour, at the moment.

Well he is soft, that's for sure. But politically he's off the scale. He is a self confessed Communist.
