In that case, the Smart Switch software is your only option https://www.samsung.com/uk/getting-s.../smart-switch/

Any other app we could suggest would come from the Play Store, which requires a Google account - which in itself would solve the issue.

Have you sorted out your issue yet as we have all provided easy fixes but you have given no feed back?

My take on this is you bought a Google smart phone so set it up properly.

No I don't actually, but you can get useful stuff like news, weather, traffic news - mine basically doubles as a Sat Nav in the car with live traffic updates. There are many useful apps out there (and Angry Birds ;) ).

Yes using Google maps as a satnav with free live traffic updates is great if you have data on your phone.
