Technically, there is an ability to have much greater speed (up and down) but not with VM...did you mean with VM or any provider?

I am staying with VM for next three years! I think the congestion in my area has now fixed and disappear. No problem with 389/22 all day yesterday and today with no issues, can't complaint.

Plus on my further note: telfordcable will be good respect from now on.

There is no competition or real demand apart from specialised users that require a faster upload but they are very much in the minority, it doesnt make commercial sense to introduce extra capacity upgrades when then D3.1 upgrade is well underway already.

I agree that giving everyone 50meg upload would be silly, but I think that we are starting to see more and more demand for higher upload speeds as more and more people get into streaming. It's still relatively niche compared to most users, but Virgin would do well by offering higher upload speeds on higher packages I feel.

yeah, it might be the defining selling point for them, detract from the price war and tilt the balance in their favour with regards to VM vs BT vs Sky etc for bulndle deals and packages
