It's like the proposed new alien films that would have picked up after Aliens and ignored Alien 3/4 v predator etc.

But it got shelved because Ridley Scott wanted top make a prequel trilogy (that worked out well didn't it)

I would have much preferred to have seen Ripley & Hicks & Newt again.

I think Aliens is perfect the way it is....

Alien 1 - GREAT
Alien 2 - EXCELLENT
Alien 3 - GOOD

I think it should have ended with part 3.....

Easily the best IMO but 2 was good as well.

Indeed.

Although I did like Terminator Salvation. Genysis was truly awful.

yeah, given the franchise fatigue I wouldn't be surprised if they do a couple of featurettes and explore the design and concept phase of the new Terminator to create an impression that they care and have put a lot of thought in to it.
