VM really push their luck with their constant inflation busting price rises, relying on customer inertia and apathy to boost their coffers. Maybe if more people bothered to ring up and negotiate VM might start offering more realistic and stable prices. But yes I agree there should be one one set (reasonable, fixed for at least a year) price.

I'm more talking about those that say there is no loyalty because they cant get discount.

I've never failed to get some kind of discount, perhaps some go in like a bull in a china shop. There's no such thing as loyalty on either side of the fence. They'll charge as much as they think they can get away with and i'll do my best to get the best possible deal. I've had cable services since the mid 90's and if i'd never negotiated I dread to think how much i'd be paying now.

I've just had an email inviting me to take part in a pop-up online community to discuss some new ideas from Virgin Group Loyalty Company.

Odd that the email is from virginholidaystheholidayhub.co.uk whom I have never heard of. ???

A link to sign up is directed to https://p1.verveengine.co.uk/, and Verve runs "The Connection" online panel for VM https://www.theconnectionvirginmedia.com/

Are they thinking of rewarding loyalty?

I've never heard of them either, are you sure it isn't a scam to harvest your personal details?

Might be worth asking one of the VM employees on here if they know anything about it Taf.

I've just been on the phone to them, 20 years I have been with VM / NTL etc. Had the top package probably 90% of the time (been on VIP since it started) currently paying £129 a month and they offered me £4.67 off a month FFS. It's def time to look elsewhere I think.

How much is the equivalent VIP package elsewhere?

They have stopped it now - top package (oomph) is £99 for new customers at the moment

Thing is there no such thing as a 'loyalty' discount and asking for one is the wrong way to go. 'Customer retention disvounts' are available if they think they might lose you. Over that 20 years you've paid them over £20k, you're valuable to them, they know it and they'll fall over backwards if they think you're leaving. Customer loyalty implies you're never leaving and they can milk you for whatever.

Yes but you're paying £129 for VIP and cant get a deal so might be leaving. So what are you leaving to? How much is the equivalent VIP package elsewhere that's going to make you leave.

We never mentioned a "loyalty discount" ourselves as l explained politely on the chat facility we were leaving because we could get it cheaper elsewhere and within 2 minutes they came back with a deal that was better then the one we had during the previous 12 months.:)

I recently got 2 V6 boxes, Sky Cinema, Full House TV, 100MB broadband and talk weekend phone for £80.00 a month. Not sure how good this is?

My discount had just run out for the VIP package, called them up said we might leave, straight away the operator said he'll check the discounts. 2 mins later he gave the ultimate oomph package for the same price as new customers at £99 for the year including the 500mbps upgrade and SIM. No haggling or nothing.
