You miss my point.

I am not on about Iran being attacked or by whom, I am on about the threat being eliminated in it's entirety so Iran cannot make it's demands for a large terrorist organisation to carry on, unabated.

Agreed, it's pragmatism. It's easy to criticise those in power for being unethical but once in power ourselves I'm sure we'd reluctantly have to make similar decisions.
