She hopes to have VM by the end of the year as they are extending in this area.

That's an inherent problem with the technology however to be fair generally the checker is pretty accurate with its estimation let's not forget in manyour areas VM fails to deliver with its speeds during peak hours. Go in the internet section on here , many times I've seen people reporting below 2 mbps speeds owing to congestion.

Sadly neither are perfect for all.

Maybe we are fortunate ,but I get what I pay for 200mb and always have. My daughter was also with VM and had no problems.

As do I.

BT's broadband is certainly distant dependant but you should get an accurate estimate when looking to join. I'm sure you'll find many happy and many disgruntled customers from both camps.

I know there are disgruntled customers on both sides, unfortunately my daughter has no choice at present. Its about time BT sorted this problem of distance.

Trust me I'm no fan of BT but to be fair in my location the FTTC ISP's I've used on the Openreach network have provided good reliable speeds regardless of time.

G.fast is the next thing for BT so it'll be interesting to see what kind of average speeds that can deliver.

Would this Sky TV service over broadband require you to have Sky Fibre or cold it be open to customers of other ISP's ? A lot of people now use Sky combined with VM Broadband.

I checked my daughters area on the BT checker as you brought it up. She should be getting at least 44mb not even close, I will get her to phone their customer services again, as she is obviously being fobbed off.
Thanks for bringing the checker up.

How much bandwidth would a single UHD channel take up presently?
