I shall do what I have always done sit tight for at least a year so the bugs can be ironed out, possibly even a lower price for switching, just like TiVo.;)

Well if only he had asked for your very wise advice SP.:)

Going out on a limb here, but I doubt very much that Virgin will charge more than Sky for the box. the extra cost will come from the monthly bundle costs when they are refreshed.

I will be purchasing a new 4K TV around November, so will think about upgrading then...

Yeah you pay £5.50 for first TiVo and £11.50 for any additional TiVo

In the current "Big" packages there's no additional charge for Tivo.
The charge for some other packages is £5pm not £5.50pm.
Additional Tivos cost £6.50pm with the TV service costing an extra £5pm irrespective of the type of box used.

They are old figures, and Media Boy is not Virgin Media.

I'm waiting till my current Samsung 1080p smart TV dies.. It's nearly 4 years old, so it's a good way through it's usable life.

Our TV is about 7 years old but we have been saving up for one so by the end of the year we will be purchasing a more up to date TV with a bit of luck.

I replaced an 8 year old 40" Toshiba - whilst that had a good picture, the difference is very noticeable, even on upscaled BBC1HD.
