Well that's the 2nd amendment for you.

But while they continue to miss read it there will be more deaths.

To be brutally honest I'm starting to not give a crap.

We had Hungerford, Result
Quote:

The Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988[34] was passed in the wake of the massacre, which bans the ownership of semi-automatic centre-fire rifles and restricts the use of shotguns with a capacity of more than three cartridges (in magazine plus the breech).
Then Dunblane Result
Quote:

In response to this public debate, the then-current Conservative government of John Major introduced the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1997, which banned all cartridge ammunition handguns with the exception of .22 calibre single-shot weapons in England, Scotland and Wales. Following the 1997 General Election, the Labour government of Tony Blair introduced the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997, banning the remaining .22 cartridge handguns in England, Scotland and Wales, and leaving only muzzle-loading and historic handguns legal, as well as certain sporting handguns (e.g. "Long-Arms") that fall outside the Home Office Definition of a "handgun" because of their dimensions. The ban does not affect Northern Ireland.
Perhaps they should wake up and smell the coffee.

What scares me is I have a Facebook friend, who is pro Trump, anti Obama, anti Muslim.

She believe that Obama is NOT Hawaiian but Kenyan and his records have been altered.

But they believe that guns are the best projection against guns, and not gun control.

I remember folks adamant that Obama would bring about Sharia law upon the US. Pretty sure they were just racist rednecks though.

Don't comment on gun control though. Its standard fact that you need piles of ammunition and a military grade rifle to defend yourself from the neighbours hamster. Or even the North Koreans invading. Just stopped short of allowing SAM's to defend yourself from pesky birds and your neighbours F-35.

Black folks shooting innocent police officers because another officer shot a black man.

3 officers dead because its fine to own a a military grade rifle.

Seems to be repeating and repeating.

In America there is not enough gun control and here we have gone way too far with gun control if I had to choose between them I'd rather America then ours at least they can own a gun. Guns are not the problem people are the problem there were plenty of firearms in the UK pre hungerford that never caused a problem because we put more emphasis on the person that owned the gun. In both hungerford and dunblane the police failed badly and rather then address the minor faults with the system we knee jerked and outlawed whole groups of firearms taking them out of legal hands creating a black market and making criminals the largest firearm owning group of citizens.

There is a happy medium and hopefully in time both the US and the UK will arrive there.

Sadly it just goes on and on and one suspects unless there is a almighty sea change in America we will be seeing the same things 50 years from now sadly.

Maybe for some the current stance is fine but not for many and shooting is both an enjoyable past time and a responsible one guns don't automatically mean bad anymore then no guns means hood.
