Scotland managed to stop England extending Sunday trading laws, that had a massive impact on millions of English workers! An the SNP were very very proud of it, even though it didn't effect Scotland at all. ---------- Post added at 18:15 ---------- Previous post was at 17:54 ---------- Quote:

Re: Time for an English Parliment?
No, you're not having an English parliament.
This is the time we need to be a UNITED Kingdom. |

Re: Time for an English Parliment?
If you are part of a "Union" that is transparent, inclusive and works for all, I'd say "Stay and participate fully".
The SNP wants full independence, but what has Scotland got? 2 main cities, a finite supply of oil and some whisky exports. Now Plaid Cymru wants full independence, but what has Wales got? 1 main city, defunct coal and steel industries, plus some sheep. But England is a different story, for the moment. There are already "parliaments" for Scotland and Wales, with limited powers for national issues. So an English "parliament" with the same powers seems logical and fair. But all I see is a monster growing: bureaucrats begetting more bureaucracy and more bureaucrats. And that costs money, money the "Union" needs for other things. |
Re: Time for an English Parliment?
You know as well as I do that what we've got doesn't even resemble a 'parliament'.

Now the racist thing is fine, I'm not racist and that's all I need to know but usually moderators step in to delete the posts and issue warning. So it seems I have to accept being called a racist on a public forum and the moderators accept this. But the "you're anti English" thing, actually yeah I have to accept that as well on the cable forum. But I do forward all comments/ threads I feel suitable to social media sites and other forums. The world has changed, the English are not your whipping boys, accept and get progressive or get left behind with biggoted views. ---------- Post added at 20:11 ---------- Previous post was at 20:08 ---------- Quote:
Tell that to the MSP's... Members of the Scottish Parliament. An it managed to prevent a change to English trading laws. Effecting the lives of millions of English people. An the remain votes of 2.5million scots seems to be reason for the Scottish parliament to consider overruling the votes of 17.5million British! |
