Also remember that Muslims aren't 'the same'. There is a rift been Sunni/Shia sects and even amongst the Sunni those that don't follow the specific creed that ISIS and the other extremists follow are considered just the same as the rest of us as far as the extremists are concerned.

I would say it is "most terrorists are claiming to be Muslims". Pretty certain the Muslim faith does not cover beheading and mass killings in its teachings. Anyone can claim to be killing in the name of there religion of choice.

Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...

but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone.

Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"


and before anyone draws a comparison to the bible, afaik, all of it's violent stuff is in the old testament but Jesus taught peace. Muhammad wasn't quite as peaceful in his teachings. Therein lies the problem....

Totally agree with this .. Islam never had a "correction" or reformation since the Koran and Hadiths were written. Plus, a lot of emphasis is made on the Koran being the word of Allah and so not able to be questioned or contradicted. Makes things difficult for more enlightened Muslims to say "No, ignore that verse and this verse as they were only parables or were historically contextual"

Generalisation the tactic of the intellectually challenged getting so sick of entire groups of people getting tarred with one brush be it on welfare or religion, just demonstrates the continuing dumbing down of people in the west and goes someway to explaining how we end up with the representatives we do.
