Re: Productivity in France

My French BIL worked for an American Drug company in Paris as an archivist (basically scanning documents into computers).

The company opted to close the French arm and tried to just make all the staff redundant with a small golden handshake.

Mais Non! 12 years later he is still employed, but by a different company, with his wages paid by the original company. He has lots of sick days due to bad knees and hips, but they still can't get rid of him. Especially since he became a union rep, representing only himself!

And yet with all that kind of thing the French still have productivity we can only envy as it's so superior to ours.

Go figure.

Anyone would think social democracy may have a case to be made over whatever neo-liberal ******** we are spreading right now.
