That's two seperate things though. The content providers will request that second screen is disabled.

As does Now TV - but I'd think that's because the service and the channels are either owned by the same people i.e either BT or Sky.

Same as the BBC support Chromecast, but neither Sky or VM can offer BBC via their own streaming services.

Personally I'm not trying to justify the distinction, but it is what it is and both Sky and VM have to comply.

Chromecast doesn't operate via a second screen, except in "mirror your entire screen" mode which works in just about any app.

This is something a lot of people overlook or don't realise. When you cast something from a phone to a Chromecast the phone does not send any video stream to the Chromecast.

My bad in regards to the terminology. I have a Chromecast so am aware how it works.

My point still stands though.

Sky don't own Disney Channel , Discovery , Fox , ITV Encore etc.

I'd say the reason both TV Anywhere and Sky Go don't support airplay or Chromecast is more to do with not wanting to harm multiroom sales.

If you read my post back I just stated BT Sport offered Chromecast support , I didn't disagree with your views re multiroom.

I had the same problem, use Firefox, it works fine
