Not sure how it worked in the NTL days, but these days (especially with the company i work for) we are personally liable for ANY damage, breakages, marks etc... on customer property accidental or not... it's not so bad if guilty but if you fall over a customers dog, while carrying a dustpan full of dust and expected to pay for the carpet... then that's just out of order... all pets / kids / units etc... should be well out of the way... we are not covered to move them...
This is a pretty clear cut case where an engineer should wear shoe covers... (many dont on wood or laminate because its slippy as hell lol)... but i think the compensation should be checked out more... as i have seen and been involved in many disputes (and won i.e. tv's that were broken before i got there etc...) when customers want something for nothing... |
