I am wondering if the Tivo is in need of a hardware upgrade, the 1 TB max hard drive is getting behind the times, though still OK for me - I did hear from one of VM's staff that Liberty thinking of using their Horizon box instead of the Tivo system but there must be a thread on that & I'm probably behind the times here.

The Horizon box only has a 500gig drive.

Yes I was looking at the specs of the Horizon a few days ago, pretty much useless size, considering the cost of (traditional) hard drives these days it's very short sighted to use such miniscule capacity - It was the engineer who swapped my box a couple of weeks ago that mentioned it.

Yes, totally inadequate and negates the fact that it has 6 tuners!

Make that 400gig according to the UPC Ireland website.

Ditto as l think quite a few would want a 2TB box and 500GB is simply just not big enough anymore.

Well, if they did that, I would gladly give Horizon a try. I've grown to like the TIVO, but I am not wedded to it. Six tuners and 2TB, that really does it for me!

I think there was initially sure confirm because of the number of lights on the box, but I don't think that's right?

It's 3 tuners, but I think there is also a currently unused 'download' indicator as the '4th' light on the front

Or some confusion, even.

There are four tuners but one is used by the internal cable modem.
