I think it's unbelievable arrogance on our part(the west) to assume that our way is best and if other countries don't submit to our way of thinking and change their cultures to suit ours then we must "bomb them into the stone age"

Obviously not for you

just because we don't agree or like a particular part of a culture doesn't mean it is wrong and it most certainly doesn't mean we have the right to go into a sovereign nation and change it to our values

we are all beasts and nature is survival of the fittest. If you have a culture like Islam that is taught the Jihad and imo there is a very real threat if ever they unite then I would rather survive and them not. I most certainly do not like the violent oppressive side of Islam and I most certainly do think their acts give us the right to attempt to change that.

I see you post in the Lee Rigby thread that in part is the side of Islam I feel we have a right to change yet you .....

Probably not so best to take out the countries in between. Then we can move on to North Africa and anywhere else we don't like.

In fairness if countries that we, as the United Kingdom, don't like is the criteria for us nuking things, then we would probably end up as a very lonely little island in the middle of a lot of sea..

Hell, if the criteria was countries the English don't like then you could probably add Scotland to that list of destroyed countries..

the thing that galls me about it all is that the people from those areas I was on about bombing seem to want to come here and do the same sort of behaviour that causes the mess they are in over there. They are always banging on about 'how peaceful' they are and yet where is this peace?

(awaits some sort of namby pamby arty farty pinko reply)

I don't know if this is the OP's poor attempt at humour or if this is a trruly held belief. I really hope it's the former because if it isn't then i'm vey glad your a minute minority of thinker's in the west. Yes the middle east is a troubled region but perhaps it's because for the better pat of the last seventy years that region has been a pawn in a game between two ideology's. they have had so much interference from the west, ameicans and eastern europe it's no wonder daft ideologists managed to sound sane and plausible.

Perhaps if both the west and the east left them alone and concentrated on sorting out their own homes the middle east could grow to see things normally and reject the fanatics. Your idea of "bombing them back to the stoneage" is repulsive in the exteme and shows the complete idiocy of western thinking some have it could almost be seen as an attempt to remove the existence of the problem we made.

I'm no liberal pinko but i'm also not ignorant to the actions and damage we in the west have done in the last many decades and realise that if we really want peace we need to stop going to area's of the world where were not welcome and trying to tell them how to do things.
