Re: VIP or XL ???

I assume the line rental increase is not added on to customers bills if they have already paid their £120 line rental saver for the year???

I paid mine in August so I assume I'm covered until next August without increase?

Correct

This is one advantage of doing the line saver - it's a big lump to have taken in one go, but ultimately works out cheaper in the long run.

I just dropped Sky Movies and Sky Sports from my VIP package this morning. No longer on any collection as I've kept the phone and broadband at the same levels and have saved £41.25 a month.

The £15/£16 line rental charge is just the same with other companies l am afraid and yes it is a rip off but companies know that people who need landlines are a easy target for them.

So has the price of line saver increased now, or will it increase in February ? i.e. is there nothing to stop customers ringing up and paying in advance now at the 'old' rate ?

It goes up on the 1st Feb to £128.

If you haven't already got it, there is nothing stopping you doing it now. If you do already have it, then you can't renew until you are advised it's coming to the end

Thanks, so potentially a £72 saving over the year if you sign up in January. Wonder why VM don't promote this more ? ;)

Of course you can still get line rental from Virgin Media for less than £11 per month. Offer available to ALL customers.

Can you? Are you not referring to the upfront payment? If so, you might as well say line rental is free if you pay upfront.

No different from "renting" your gas, water or electric meter - at least with Virgin you have a choice of having the service, but with the others, you have no choice (which really winds me up !!)

Eh? How can you say that? The payment is for your line rental, so it's not free

Ah just read this thread:-
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/59...on-page-2.html

I'm on a 2 year discounted retention deal so guess I'm not eligible. Thought it was too good to be true.

The OP said line rental was £11 per month - it's not if you've got to pay upfront. If you could get it for £11 pm without paying up front, I'm sure we'd all take that offer! ;)

Re: VIP or XL ???

Technically it's £10 a month if you stay for the whole 12 months.

It'll be £10.66 a month once the upfront payment goes to £128

Of course I'm referring to Line Rental Saver.

IMHO It's a complete no brainer for loyal customers to pay the equivalent of £10 per month, rather than £15 or £16 per month.

Nowhere else will you get such a great return on your money.
