Well i chose VM without the sports but doesn't the BT deal run out in 2016 and not 2015?

The BT Sports deal does indeed run out in 2016 but the Champions League deal starts a year before.

The BT Sport deal will still be in place in 2015 so I will stick with Premier to get that and still have Sky Sports probably as my team is currently in the Championship and I love my cricket also.

I would not pay for BT Sport for any price really as can cope without some Premier League footy and the Champions League.

Unfortunately I love sport and have XL TV pack and SKY Sports with HD subscription. Won't hold my breath but I hope SKY will drop this annoying charge of £7 to VM customers for Sports in HD especially when we only get two of their channels in HD :(

You can't say 'never', Dave, because if their competitors end up not charging and Sky looks too expensive to people, they will start to lose customers.

In recent years, Sky have had the edge over Virgin Media in some respects, but I don't feel that they do any more. This means that they will start to lose customers to VM, who offer more for less. Very soon, they are going to have to take another look at their prices and pricing structure and think of something new that makes them stand out from the rest.

But the market is changing quickly as HD is becoming the norm now thus it becomes much harder for suppliers to justify the extra charge in a increasingly competitive market.

Excluding premium movies and sports both VM and Sky are pretty much similar if BT Sports not your thing

Entertainment Extra + is £32 and includes HD
VM XL TV is currently £29.50 includes HD another forum member has said this is to increase £2.50 bringing them level.

Does that include the TIVO fee MM, or is that just for the standard box?

Perhaps the extra £2.50 is to pay for the missing HD channels and Atlantic?!?;)
