Not a very good exchange, not even on 21CN from BT.

Possibly on a leased line?

Postcode on the line doesn't match the address. Address says FTTC from a different exchange.

Thanks for the responses.

I asked the people who live in the house nearest to the one we are thinking of buying what their speed was and it's

3.12Mbps down and 0.64Mbps up. :(

Worse than where I currently live.

I'm guessing the show home must be a leased line from perhaps the Prestwick exchange.

Will see if the sales people can get me in touch with the companies IT department to clarify.

But are they on normal service or fibre? It's possible fibre is available to them but they didn't take it.

Often show homes and building sites will have a VPN connection to a head office either a remote desktop or a direct VPN so they can access various services so this could be skewing the results.

Your best bet is to use the post code of the property and it will match up in the best way.

Hi - i found this page as a result of a google search for the St Quivox and Annbank phone exchange. I have also just bought a house at the Cala Kirk Green development and have been told that I will shortly need to get in touch with BT to install a phoneline.

I'm very interested to hear that any information at all on the availability of Fibre in the area as i currently have 40mb down/10mb up at my current address and it will be a shock going back to standard ADSL.

I noticed on the Samknows website that some of St Quivox (mostly the old village) is covered by the Prestwick exchange and others not?

Scott.
