Doing it all at once makes no sense.... best to get it right. Hence why they do it in areas...

Another thing I've noticed - the Sky on Demand menus now have in part Sky's colours i.e. blue and yellow

I would have thought one reason it's better to roll out area by area is in case something goes wrong in mass deployment and foobars half the boxes. This happened when I first started working where I am now. I'd had NT 4 Service Pack 2 installed for several weeks on various machines, didn't notice any problems, so we rolled it out to the staff. Half our PCs were effectively torpedoed by it. We got all of them working, but it took a long time and a lot of man hours.

Then there is intstallers, engineers and other physical resources. I suspect it's inevitable that some boxes, when flashed with the new software will fail during the upload. I doubt Virgin have nearly enough installers to cope if this happened on a national scale.

Most of Sky channels on Virgin now (and have for a while) carry their corresponding red button Sky On Demand features. These are in the full Sky livery (blue & yellow) and are specific to the channel the red button was pressed.

However approach Sky On Demand from Virgin's (home) Catch Up & On Demand, then the livery remains Virgin red on a TiVo and if IIRC (it's been a long time) black & yellow on a V+.

(Sorry the ability to take and apply a decent screen shot is a little above my current skill set!)

Ok so the next debating point is just how much of a poor subscription is Premier Sport at £7.99 pcm when it seems Netfilix will be less?!

Thanks Spiderplant. Any chance you could post screen shots of the new 'My Planed Recordings' screen and 'Manage My Series Links' screen?

They are the ones I'm most interested in... to see the new HD versions. I've searched Google several times or them in the past, but with no results.

Thanks.

Netflix is well worth it when it arrives soon as there's plenty on there and its no more in money then two pints of beer so for us it will represent extremely good value.

I think he is refering to Sky On Demand via the Virgin menu system. See SpiderPlants pics

I thought it was gonna be a little more subtle than that, it looks like they haven't changed all the menu colours from TiVo to Virgin livery.

Thanks anyway!
