Have you gone to the unblockus web site and clicked the 'check service status button' (the orange circle witn 2 curved white arrows in)? You need to do this as part of the setup procedure.

PS you may have to set up unblockus up on your PC as well before the above works. Mine was originally set up on the PC before I added the WD player

Unless the instructions for the device are on the Unblockus website, then I don't know how to do it.

You can set it up on your ipad ---- I believe that some people use that or a phone app to change Netflix regions rather than use a PC. Having neither an ipad or smart phone, I can't help with that I'm afraid.

This is a good source for Netflix content recommendations, info on unblockus and other things: do a google search for 'avf netflix recommended'

I do not know if this will help you with Netflix but a way to get the U.S version is to go to a site called mediahint.com you download it as an add on to your web browser, activate it then sign out of your Netflix and straight back in and it has changed you IP address to an American one and you can access it without paying anymore because you legally are still using your own membership - i realise this is for computers but i just connect my laptop via HDMI to the tv and bob's your uncle. No extra monthly contract just your regular bill for Netflix. To change back to UK version just log out - turn off media hint - and log in - back to UK version.

Thanks, I think I may have done it but not sure.

I have change the DNS servers in my computer to Unblock-US and also selected the US region from their website. Apparantly if you can get Archer you are on the US site, which I can.

There is no signing in or out with Unblockus; You just sign in once with your UK account details and that's it. You change regions via the unblockus website or phone app and that's it, although you do have to come out of the Netflix app and restart it when you change regions. £3.30 p/m ls worth it IIMHO to get all 10 Netflix regions as content differs greatly between the main ones.

This is useful for seeing which Netflix region a title may be on.

I understand that there are obvious differences between unbockus and Media Hint - the thing for me is that it does not cost anything. When you sign into the US one the price on the home page will be in dollars and also i believe they do not have Dexter. You will only be signed in to the US version on the device you used Media Hint on. So for me my lap top is American Netflix - my Xbox and phone are UK. It is probably not as good as unblockus but it is a free way to get more choices. It is just another option :)

Unless Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men etc.. are available on Netflix US I would not be interested. Can anyone confirm that these series are not available on Netflix US?

Check the previously mentioned moreflicks http://www.moreflicks.com/
to see if and what netflix region any show is on. Different regions could have differing numbers of seasons though.

Dexter and mad men are available; Boardwalk Empire almost certainly won't be.

Dexter is on FOX UK, the final season starts in July on VM channel 157 and 158(HD) and the old series are regularly shown on CBS Action (Channel 192)

Yes thanks,
I will wait until the next season of Dexter is being shown and then watch Mad Men as well.
