If the race is on an HD channel, it will record that one, as it has a higher priority. It won't record the SD one as well, as it doesn't record the same show (with the same name) twice.

In the case where there is no HD version, it will pick up the SD version automatically. The SD version only needs to be one position below the HD version in the priority list for this to work.

I sometimes do a similar thing for a show I have a whishlist for that gets recorded on an SD channel, when there is an HD channel version of the show. I create a series link for the show on the HD channel and put the series link one position higher in the priority list than the original whishlist for the same show. It then only records the HD version from the series link. But if the show gets moved to a different channel, although the series link will fail, the wishlist still picks it up.
