I get the same feeling each time I need to go in to Swansea.
Kinda hoping Charles didn't get any hassle when he rang up asking how she was doing... :disturbd: |

Re: Queen Admitted To Hospital.
Heard Kevin Maguire whining on about this on Sky. His assertion was that the Queen should have been treated in a normal NHS hospital 'just like everyone else' and that a room with a policeman outside would be all the special arrangements that would be required to ensure her security. Somehow I expect had she done just that he'd be moaning about how she'd stolen a bed from some poor dying serf...

She is the Queen and these are the facilities available to her, it makes sense that way because of what she represents and the importance of her health as a result. However a bit less of a fawning and admiration of what amounts to someone taking advantage of the resources not available to most would be wise IMO. I am glad she is recovering but it would be better to see how we could help the elderly with similar medical conditions who do not have access to the best medical treatment, and therefore really do have to 'not make a fuss'. |
Re: Queen Admitted To Hospital.
Maguire wasn't commenting on any of that Damien, if he had been I'd be rather more understanding. In the interview I saw, he was making a general point that she should be treated within the NHS, not complaining about all the admiration she was getting for having to rough it in a top private hospital.
I wonder how many of Maguire's ilk solely use the NHS... |
