A lot of work schemes are not meant to train people in a certain job ,they are simply meant to get people like that caller out of the house and into a routine of getting up in the morning ,it is not ,or shouldn't be, the governments job to train people .That is up to the individual or companies that benefit from trained personnel

I am all for training as I have said before allow those on JSA a year to train on full benefit as long as they prove they are attending and getting good grades
Why the hell should taxes pay for that ?allowing people to have a year off at the states expense to train for a job ,get real .We are trying to cut the benefits bill not double it .

This guy is a dick but I still believe this type is in the minority and it does give people like Marty and various other ammo in their long hard fight against what seems like anyone on benefits.
FOR THE LAST TIME IT'S NOT "ANYONE ON BENEFITS" IT'S SOME ON BENEFITS .

I am heartily sick of people with your attitude who think anyone who supports ideas designed to get people of state support and start thinking and looking after themselves as people who want to see the truly sick and needy as something to be trodden under foot .That is not the case and never has been but your attitude and that of others who share it is creating a culture where people are scared to critisize any benefit claimant in case they get branded as uncaring or unfeeling

That's the thing isn't it - I'm sure we all know some who are swinging the lead and some that aren't.

To make that determination for everyone is the problem. One size definitely doesn't fit all.

I have no easy answers, I just wish it WAS easy to put everyone into nice little holes.

What dilli says.:tu:

And all that does is earn resentment and a half assed job done

Because they are paying for it anyway why not give those a chance to learn who want to better themselves but are not academic and did not do well at school??

It is the fact you actively support policies that are hitting the weakest

I am glad I am having that effect on you . I do not like you so the fact you are sick of me I find pleasing. :)

Well I feel the same about mentioning how I feel about Muslims and other subjects but it certainly does not stop me ;)

Only to those who don't want to work ,anyone with an ounce of self respect would jump at the chance to make themselves more employable

No problem at all with people training and bettering themselves but allowing people to sit on the dole for a year and getting trained is just plain messed up thinking .There are plenty of opportunities for training in those skills you mention payed for by the companies that do them

It is the fact you actively support policies that are hitting the weakest

That is the most pathetic answer you have come up with to date .You are showing extreme ignorance of what is happening around you and the state of the nation as a whole .You are only concerned that free money is continued to be dished out at the same levels it was under labour and to the same people who don't need it
