As big as it was, I was expecting it not to of happened in the books with how some websites were going on about it.

It's Interesting, I don't see what story arc the Starks will follow now, as they are a spent force.

Best thing on telly though, along with breaking bad.

Thing is we have seen someone bought back from the dead so we never know for sure if anyone killed will stay that way

Can't believe we have to wait another year.

They should have more episodes per season.

It's what it's called in the books ;)

I've been waiting for it all season...

So is SKY dictating the storyline now?

In the book Rob's wife wasn't at the 'Red Wedding' so in theory could have lived with her being pregnant with his heir (in fact it was his mother-in-law that set it up in the first place NOT the Lannisters). Looks like Sky have dictated how Martin writes book 6 to an extent now. Surely he was consulted with something as big as this though.

Not SKy who just transmit the programme in the UK. HBO are the makers of it and it would be them who have ultimate production sway. The third book has been split into two TV seasons, and so some book timelines have changed to suit the TV production. As Martin is credited with an exec production role, I'm sure his voice is heard.

quite right - is HBO that made it (brain must be frazzled in the heat :D)

if 3rd book is going to be 2 tv seasons it will give Martin time to make his book 6 deadline of 2015 (if he and I last that long).

The two showrunners have been told the overall story by GRRM and where he plans everyone to be by the end of the saga.

If any changes they wanted to make would mess up future events due to conflicting with the books, he'd tell them.
