That was very clever! How did you do it?
By the way, a thought struck me about the daily recording. I have my series links set to record only new shows. Marchlands isn't new, so could that be the reason it won't record as a daily series? I set things to 'New' because otherwise all the repeats of every series of a particular show records as well.

Just for you....http://lmgtfy.com/?q=lmgtfy :D

Oh I see. Thanks for that Spiderplant. It's all so different from my old V+HD box. Recording a series was a whole lot easier with that. Frankly I found it a lot more straightforward. You seem to have to jump through a lot of hoops to do anything with the Tivo. It's one menu after another! :(

I agree with you about 'The Bill' Oliver. I was sorry too when ITV dropped it. I think we saw every episode, but I wouldn't want to see them all again. It was a Police Soap really.

Kop; thanks for the Google link. I've never seen that before. I've bookmarked it and I'll use it myself in the future! Most impressive! :D

Although Tivo may seem more difficult to set up series links than V+ at first, it doesn't take too much time to realise that Tivo is better.

I remember the first day that I got Tivo, I'd written all the days and times of every series link that I had on V+. I then entered them into tivo at the same exact day and time. I was then surprised that Tivo was saying it would record a particular show at an earlier day and time to what I'd set the series link up to. This was because tivo has 3 recordable tuners and the V+ just 2. So for shows that I'd had to set manually to a repeat showing on V+ due to recording clashes on the first showing, Tivo knew that now wasn't necessary and recorded the first showing. More than that, for every recording clash that i had on the V+, I had to figure out how to resolve that clash myself, spending time searching for repeat showings; Tivo does all this automatically; all you have to do is set the series link and tivo does the rest. It's not perfect because there isn't a repeat showing of everything, but Recording hiccups will show you any problems that it can't resolve; the V+ has no feedback in that regard at all.

The odd show clash that Tivo can't resolve can often be resolved by changing series link priorities; making shows on channels that don't have repeat showings so much, a higher priority than those that do.

The concept is different for Tivo with regard to series links, and once you realise that, Tivo is way better than the V+.

Re: Recording a daily series

I am getting there. At the moment, I feel I have to check absolutely everything I've set up a series link for because even though I've set it to record only new shows, it sometimes does the repeats that week as well, even though they're on at different times and sometimes even different series numbers! Then I have to go through the lot and delete the individual shows.
Mind you, I wish I'd done what Passingboat said and copied down all the shows I'd recorded on the old V+ box and transferred them to the Tivo. Never thought about it. :dunce:
