I would suggest that the only people who can resolve the issue is VM, therefore I would suggest you give them a call. General advice seems to be to ring as soon after 8am to get UK support.

Mate I phoned them three times yesterday to help with this nonsense, the last call seemed to work for about 24 hours then BANG back to the same problem.

Its ridiculous.

I spent nigh near 3 hours on the phone with them yesterday.

check via double speed checker if in your area are going some work
(example your speed is due to may-june)

If is going work now then you may have these problems until they finish (had almost same issues with frequent disconnections)

If not going any work (according to double speed checker) then VM has a fault somewhere or if you have disconnections Only after R36 firmware you need to report at VM forums because i have seen few other complaining about disconnections after the R36 upgrade

As advised call them again ( i know is annoying) because at VM forums you will wait few days for official reply

Nice...
Then call them again ( i know is boring) & ask them if is fault at VM end or is because the r36 update causing disconnections or ask for a replacement modem

will a new modem do anything different?

just off the phone there, fella spoke his senior "technician" and they said they are going to send me a new SH.

is this likely to make any difference?

maybe if they decide to send you new one looks like there is not fault at their end (also the double speed at your area is completed) so maybe your current SH is faulty ... let us know when post will arrive

and if the SH doesn't sort the issue?
