Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Current affairs discussion
I don't care about the actual Olympics, but I think that the opening ceremony was excellent (well, apart from the obligatory A-Z of countries bit at the end).

The lighting of the Olympic torch has left me speechless
edit.....and then they top that with a shot of the rings in space:nworthy: |
Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Current affairs discussion
Really nice touch: the cauldron being lit by seven hopefuls rather than one famous 'has been'. Brilliant music as well (are U2 now British?). Eclipse lyrics on the actual lighting. Risky, but brilliant.
I'm not sure if Muhammed Ali should have been there though. That bit was painful to watch. ---------- Post added at 01:13 ---------- Previous post was at 01:01 ---------- What was wrong with Paul McCartney though. He wasn't quite out of sync, but it sounded like he was performing in gale force winds? |
