Re: ASA refuses to uphold VM's complaint
Yes. That it is technically factual is not a good-enough reason to mention it as complaint as a limit on the service as there's nothing they can do about it.

Re: ASA refuses to uphold VM's complaint
why dont VM put out an advert stating these unlimited deals shouldnt be confused with speed? the average customer will sway towards VM until Sky put out a fibre advert lol

Re: ASA refuses to uphold VM's complaint
Talking about VM advertising that add with David Tennant about the stuttering streaming...its so false advertising I have more problems with streaming and stuttering on VM's 100mbit connection than I had on my old up to 8mbit ADSL and my old up to 24mbit SKY broadband never had any problems with stuttering.
I'm tempted to report them for false advertising but not sure how much hassle it is. |
Re: ASA refuses to uphold VM's complaint
STM and protocol shaping

On a more serious note fan boys aside. Beside stuttering my connection is actually very good, get good speed on downloads etc. |

It's been proven again and again by customers in all corners of the country that VM have a problem with jitter. Jitter causes streaming media to buffer, and Virgin are claiming that they have said "goodbye to buffering". If that statement can't hold substance based on the user experience on their network, then it is false advertising. Simple as that. P.S. If you keep rolling your eyes like that, they'll stay that way. |

If you can prove that a significant-enough proportion of VM's millions of customers are having major problems with Jitter then please go ahead and post the details here then contact the ASA and OFCOM. Quote:

But every other provider is more or less capable of providing their customers with a stable service. (latency wise) |
Re: ASA refuses to uphold VM's complaint
As a Sky customer I love this lol, I'm posting it on every forum I know that has an interest in ISP's. Sky's broadband is truly unlimited and it has proven now that virginmedia actually do not comprehend what unlimited means lol.
This is the biggest back fire ever lOlollmao an convinces me virginmedia think the average customer is an idiot. |

That the customer only receives 7MB could, actually, be interpreted as a limit; but not more-so than VM's artificially-imposed STM. |
