Can you clarify the exact model of TP Link. If it's the TP-Link TL-WR841N, you may want to read the review below about connecting to Macs ......

Yes, I thought most routers are platform agnostic, especially with their browser based interfaces for changing settings. The OP's problem sounds like a settings issue - bjq1972's advice seems good, especially if you haven't sent it back yet.

If you really want a router that should be 100% Mac compatible (with it's own Mac application) you could try Apple's own Airport Extreme - it's expensive but in my own experience, very reliable. You could try getting an older model on eBay if you want it a bit cheaper.

Away from that, Lifehacker have just done a round-up/poll on five of the best Wi-fi routers which could be useful:

Re: Superhub issues

Since getting the superhub on my 60Mbit line, I had issues with my existing router dropping (Belkin) constantly when running the superhub in Modem only mode. Then I read that there were incompatibility issues with the Belkin and Superhub causing line drops. Attempting to run my home network off the SUperhub only didn't work out well. The wireless especially is weaker then my Belkins.

After much messing around I worked out how to put the Belkin router into Wi-Fi access point only mode (router off) so the VM SH runs in router mode with Wireless turned off.

My Belkin wireless access point has no issues operating in paralell to the superhub since I changed it to this mode.

Re: Superhub issues

I received my upgrade pack yesterday.I was going to use the Superhub in modem mode in conjunction with my Airport Extreme. Prior to receiving the pack I printed off all the relevant info from the Virgin Media site plus all the info about problems concerning getting the hub to work with the Airport Extreme unit on Cable Forum and Digital Spy.

Swapping over the modem and Superhub was easy and was demonstrated in a video on the Virgin Media site. Activation was easy too.

I connected to the Superhub admin interface at 192.168.0.1 website and activated modem mode.

I connected my Airport Extreme and in a short while had it working.Currently, it works fine with my Windows XP desktop and my Windows 7 laptop. Just waiting for my wife to connect her Windows XP laptop and for my daughter to connect her MAC laptop but am not expecting any problems.

Browser windows load quickly and downloads are very quick even when you have several going at the same time. All in all I am very pleased.
