I think as far south as Plymouth you're probably going to get away with it. However, right here, in a forest clearing in central Scotland, the noise of the wind is quite something, I can tell you.

I typed that out at 10am ... Just as the power went off. My iPad has helpfully submitted it as soon as our interwebs came back on with the leccy.

SSE Landrovers have just passed the window even though the power's been on a few minutes now - looks like they have some proper damage to fix. Ah, rural living. :D

We're in an elevated position up on the northern tip of the sandstone ridge in Cheshire and it's getting a bit wild and nasty out there now after a relatively calm morning.

My nephew commutes from Edinburgh to East Lothian and he's been told to stay at home today.

I have been doing the rounds on the STV Web site and found reports on STV Bellshill says that it main street has been closed because of a roof coming off an local shop.

It is terrible here in Scotland today with wind and rain. So Glad I am not going out. Not many people about at all.
