Well lets hope it leads to Bernies power ending and he quits F1.

I can't see it making any difference. They are still in F1, and Bernie is still the owner.

Bernie had nothing to do with FOTA in fact all the teams together had the effect of blocking Bernie on a few issues like the mid-season banning of blown diffusers.. The only reason why the two teams have dropped FOTA is that they're probably peeved off with not keeping blown diffusers

And so FOTA now have less powers with less members.

Yep.. having all the members involved meant that they could force Bernies hand to some extent.. less teams means less persuasion

The World Motor Sport Council has announced a number of rule changes for the 2012 Formula One season including crash tests and lapping.

There are also set to be changes in accordance with lapping regulations. All lapped cars will be permitted to rejoin the back of the field during safety car periods rather than meddle with the leading pack when over a lap behind.

There will now be a maximum race time of four hours during each grand prix to ensure that lengthy suspensions do not hamper the races.

Should read '...does not hamper Sky's commitments to adverts'. Canada was a great race and the massive stoppage added to the entertainment, it certainly didn't "hamper" it.

I think FOTAs days are numbered.

With Ferrari & Red Bull pulling out, Torro Roso will unlikely be allowed into any FOTA meeting, as they are owned my Red Bull & have Ferrari engines.

A few other teams are also concidering pulling out.

GP2 champion Romain Grosjean will partner returning 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen at Renault for the 2012 season when the team becomes Lotus.
Will be interesting to see what Kimi's reactions are like after 3 years driving rally production cars

Toro Rosso have named Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne as their drivers for the 2012 Formula 1 season.

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost said: "One has to remember that when Toro Rosso was established in 2005, it was done so with the intention of providing a first step into Formula 1 for the youngsters in the Red Bull junior driver programme.

"It is therefore part of the team's culture to change its driver line-up from time to time in order to achieve this goal."

Formula 1 2012 Season

Kimi Räikkönen had his first seat fitting at Lotus Renault today.
Quote:

The last time I was at Enstone I quickly jumped into a seat, but this is indeed the first time I have properly sat in an F1 car with a helmet on since the last race of 2009. It felt a bit odd at first because the cockpit seems a bit small, but that’s normal. It’s just like in the past when I have done seat fittings – it feels a bit strange when you first step into the car but you quickly adjust. It will be nice to get back to racing.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on this season...

Probably the boring, ignorant, mono-syllabic git he was last time

Brazilian Bruno Senna has signed to drive for Williams in 2012.

The move means the 28-year-old is joining the team for which his uncle Ayrton Senna was driving when he was killed in 1994.

He was preferred to veteran countryman Rubens Barrichello for the position and will partner Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado.

Senna impressed sporadically after being drafted in by the Renault team in the final races of last season
