Although I'm sure they're very proud watching daddy tell the "Sky man" all about BB speeds and usage policies. As you walk away I'm sure the "Sky man" is thinking how impressive and interesting your BB speeds and usage policies talk was. Or maybe last week the "Sky man" was in a different shopping centre trying to sell TalkTalk products, or going door2door in cabled areas trying to push VM products? The sales people really couldn't give a toss about speeds and FUP's, or if Sky VM go bankrupt tomorrow. They just want to shift enough of whatever they're selling this week to hit there bonus. ---------- Post added at 15:47 ---------- Previous post was at 15:46 ---------- Quote:

I used to run an electroplating company. And we employed a sales rep as a driver, as he was between jobs. So one day I decided to take him out on the road with me, to see how he got on with his sales patter. Well he was brilliant, right up until the potential customer asked a technical question....then he had to turn to me. One thing he did tell me (that I have also noticed with sales staff in the bed industry), is that when a customer asks them a question that they don't know the answer to. They they are trained to asess if the customer knows much about the subject. If they don't, then they will just bluff their way through, and tell them what they think the customer wants to hear. Well I would never have someone like that selling beds for me, as I think that to give good advice, you should know your products inside and out. |
Re: Knock knock at my door !
i did the same thing to a sky salesman in bootle he even quoted me a price of £120 as soon as i don't told him my monthly cost £118 he couldn't beat it even if he tried.

Re: Knock knock at my door !
Maybe I should add that if they are polite and ask me how I am etc (give me a chance to speak) I'll often let them know right at the start that I work for VM and then we can end the call quickly and they can pester someone who may actually buy from them.

To be fair it's acceptable to a lot of people.
haven't got a clue why though. maybe they're just grateful for having an installation in the first place so the sloppy work isn't a concern. |
