It's probably not the wifi manager but instead some sort of laptop proprietary software with form of profile that's disabling the wifi on AC

From experience of designing such things, they can radiate from DC to Xrays :)

It's not what they are radiating in-band. it's the cheap front ends of WiFi that can get crunched from out of band signals.

I agree that some of the bench supplies (or specialist supplies) can produce sproggies that high but not though from a basic laptop switch mode where it's switching at only a few Khz which means that any harmonics at 2.4Ghz is at such a low power that little if any is radiated.

You would be surprised. I have had to fault find systems where GPS circa 1570MHz was being blocked by a simple but badly laid out/designed "buck" style PWM regulator running at 150KHz. OK GPS is running at a much lower signal strength but nonetheless.

The mush these power supplies generate is pretty bad despite having a CE marking. Not to mention the mush a laptop puts out having many such devices inside.

In hindsight, I think it's more likely an issue with the network being disabled on battery as some have previously posted.
