Privacy
 

Cable Forum values the privacy of all forum users. We do track certain details for our management purposes as detailed in the Privacy Policy. These will never be disclosed without a legally valid requirement. We reserve the right to contact your Internet Service Provider if you are severely abusing our site. Please be aware that identities can sometimes be guessed by other internet users from details such as forum nicknames, posting styles and content. You should never post information that may be confidential to you, your employer, or which would invade the privacy of others.

Posters must take responsibility for the content of the posts and other information they might make available on the board. We do not recommend that you publish email or postal addresses, phone numbers, account or other contact details. You should never post identifiers such as modem serial and mac addresses. We will often, but not always, remove these when found, but do not guarantee to do this.

Virgin Media Staff
 

Employees of Virgin Media, and other organisations are welcome to participate in our board, provided they comply with our general policies. Most will be doing so in a personal capacity, in their own time, and will thus not necessarily represent the views of their employer.

In some circumstances, a staff member may wish to offer assistance to a forum user. This is done on a voluntary basis. Do not solicit aid from staff members, or others, unless you have a specific invitation. Remember there can often be limitations to assistance available outside of the official support systems of companies due to Data Protection and other factors.

Do not disclose personal information such as account details unless you are certain of a person's identity. The Cable Forum Team has verified certain some staff as being employed by Virgin Media. Virgin Media staff should contact the Cable Forum Team for verification. We do not use specific tags or titles for such staff, who may choose to remain anonymous. If in doubt check with a Cable Forum Team member.

Cable Forum Ownership and Independence
 

Cable Forum is an independently owned and operated web site. We are not beholden to Virgin Media or any other organisation. The site and it's members are free to praise or criticise, provided any content is within this site's terms of service. Some employees of Virgin Media may be members of the Cable Forum Team, but their role is independent of and outside of their contract of employment.

The Cable Forum Team are made up of volunteers appointed by the site owners. If there is a vacancy for a Team member, we will invite applications from forum users by a posting on the message board. All applications are then vetted by the existing team. Please do not seek appointment when we are not directly recruiting.

Cable Forum Team Members are listed from a link on the bottom navigation bar on the forum's home page.

Please remember that Team Members are here to promote the smooth running of Cable Forum and have many tasks that they undertake, often whilst multi-tasking other duties away from the board. The Team will attempt to deal with matters in a reasonable time, but are not to be at the beck and call of site users who should not expect immediate action and resolution to issues that arise.
