sky 3D would not interest me

Re: F1 on Sky Sports

I get your not interested in 3D however you keep assuming that should a race be on SS HD 3 that VM should get access to it so if that were the case the same would apply with 3D. I've seen no documentation that states every pay tv platform has to have access to the races in HD as many have stated top up TV and BT Vision only carry 1 and 2 and both only in SD.

I thought part of the F1 agreement is that is needs to be shown in HD... therefore i think Sky would be legally obliged to show it on either 1 or 2... OR offer 3 and 4 in HD to VM and BT....

FOM doesn't film in 3D so the dispute can end there.

Not yet it isn't

While Sky has begun broadcasting some sports in 3D the spokesperson said it was “way too early to say” whether this could also be used for F1 – which has only made its debut in HD this year.

Using Sky employed/leased/contracted/what-have-you camera crew. F1 is filmed by FOM, no-one else.

James I'm well aware of that but I still wouldn't rule it out in the future.

BT don't even carry 1 or 2 in HD.

Neither do Top Up TV , it will end up on SS 1/HD1 or SS 2/HD2 Sky will treat it as a top tier sport.

Not really bothered, as long as it's got no adverts.
