Yes I agree with this, I use reminders all the time but especially when a new show starts in a new time slot.

I usually set a reminder for the first few episodes.

I can see where you re coming from there my V+ though fast forwards at 32x is the TiVo much faster then that? the ads just whizz by on mine as i cannot stand them either but if that has changed the way you watch tv so much the better.

I know what you mean about fast forwarding on sky sports news too,all the football froth (Rooneys new hair transplant ect) just gets binned,and i can catch the cricket news.;):D

It was absolutely great when I was out of the country for the better part of 3 weeks. Recorded everything - including a couple of entire series being repeated daily and managed to get up to 90% full (was 50% when I left). I would never have been able to have that much content - esp HD content - on my V+ and would have had to have archived a shedload before I left and probably not been able to record those two series - just our regular TV for that few weeks.

And as others have said, we now don't rush to watch things to clear the drive - we can let things build up a bit longer and then watch them at our leisure. We definitely watch more HD than we used to. Never used to record HD - only watched it live.

Reminders don't bother me in general as I didn't use them throughout the day, though sometimes when I have trouble falling asleep I would put the TV on sleep and use reminders to change the channel so the background noise would be a program I would listen to if the one immediately following what was on wasn't something I liked (hope that made sense) so I do miss them a bit for that reason and understand why others do.

Wishlists - amazing! I don't use them as much as some, but they've managed to find quite a few things I would otherwise have missed because they peruse all channels and not just the ones you regularly watch...

So all in all - it has altered the way we watch TV. Not a complete 180, but a little shift.

Quick answer from me is yes it as changed the way I view TV

I now watch content I had no idea existed, and have discovered channels i also didn't relies existed like "Yesterday"

I didn't record much with my V+ box but now I do and the suggestions get better and better as time goes on

The biggest change is in "perception", I don't follow TV schedules any more, I just cherry pick stuff from live TV

And watch my recorded stuff in between,

I see my TV now as a "personal channel" I watch some stuff off live TV and mix it up with recorded stuff, and content from my Apple TV,

Feels like I own my own TV Station, Just like "Richard" :cool:

Yes its great to watch what programmes you like and with the bigger hard drive and regular suggestions we can do this to our hearts content.

Yes I agree with this and although I have SKY my box is a 1tb box which actually has a 1.5tb drive in it so it fills the 500gb spare with a kind of suggestions only its random lol.

So instead of offering me the kind of shows I already know I like I find myself watching completely new kinds of content thanks to the 500Gb of ANYTIME content available to me instantly and ondemand.

I find it preposterous that you are comparing Sky Anytime to TIVOs suggestion feature , TIVOs suggestions are based on your likes and dislikes were Sky Anytime is a showcase of TV downloaded during the night , sure it has some execellent content but the two are nothing alike.

I CLEARLY stated that Anytime was not bassed on shows you like but was random Hence is said I'm watching content I would of never bothered with. I know you saw this bit.

Wouldn't hold your breathe on Tivo adding reminders - i read somewhere they will not be including them - maybe got enough on their plate at the mo fixing things that should work

I think Tivo is actually slower at FFwding but you can also skip chunks

I do like that Tivo jumps back a bit when you press play so you dont overshoot
Also better that you can sloooooow down when you know youre getting nearer the spot

Yes well there was one last week who turned out to be not just a Sky salesman but was rude and insulting to forum members but l think they kicked him off thank god and maybe this is the same one who could well have multiple accounts.

The History Channel showed "The Kennedy's" 3 months prior to it being aired on BBC2, been watching the channel regularly ever since then
