Ghost always was the industry leader and one that I used for major rollouts since the mid '90s
There are though a lot of free options (the two I mentioned are the ones I have personally used) and I don;t much see the point in paying for something that you will probably only use once in a limited capacity when there are so many free options.. |

The thing is that the copy should not effect your original HDD so if it fails for whatever reason or you mess it up then you can either try again or go back to the original drive whilst you figure out what went wrong.
As for the paid versions yes they are good and have some great utilities, but for a simple copy they are overkill. |

The free version worked just fine thanks everyone I now have a lovely shiny 500gb drive in place of the 80GB
