An estimate is always bound to change.

So it's a virgin problem?

Still can not get into photobucket at home through virgin??

Will it 100% be sorted by 6pm today? Does anyone know?

its more severe then they may realise, its certianly not limited to https sites and a few banking sites. At a guess I would say I cannot access about 20-30% of the net without a proxy.

How long's a piece of string!? Who knows. The resolution time is still only an estimate. It depends on what the problem is (which we are not privvy to ) and what it will take to fix it.

I should imagine even Masque cannot answer your question as it will be up to the network guys to solve.

Of course it's annoying and frustrating for quite a few users. Won't make it be fixed any sooner than it can though.

Not sure about anybody else but the last 5 minutes or so web pages have been loading fine again; and faster then they ever have done before; touch wood this lasts

Re: Virgin blocking certain sites?

I'm no expert but I'm thinking this isnt a routing issue.

I can get the header/title of a page to load, but then the browser stops and you are left with a blank page. If it was a routing issue, you wouldn't get to the site full stop. I think virgin are doing something with their DPI and for whatever reason it is knobbling certain sites immediately after you connect.

This would also explain why traceroutes show no issues. The DPI dosent see the contents of them as a problem so dosent intervene, while using a web connection obviously brings back the page and its contents which the DPI can then inspect and do its thing. Exactly what that is remains to be seen.
