We rented outright and did so when first married but it soon started to be cheaper to buy rather than rent. |

I have rented a TV before and in some cases it is the best thing to do. This is just IMHO:erm: |
Re: Would you rent a TV from VM?
But as has been pointed out, it's just not worth renting a TV nowadays, with the amount of TVs going for free on Freecycle. Now that people are upgrading to HDTVs there are loads of half-decent TVs going begging each week as it's easier than the hassle of disposal while complying with electronic waste regulations. My local Freecycle group has had 28 TVs listed just this month.

Considering the price of a Television nowadays renting is a foolish option and even if the cost is prohibitive at present due to circumstances beyond your control then you can always go to the likes of Freecycle and get one for free. |

but no worries - i've counted the voted and even if VM did rent TV's most people wont bother |

A television rental service would require everyone to be trained on them and it would require 2 man crews to fit and support them due to the size of the units. This would mean more technicians employed and trained for a service would likely be very expensive and liable to fail for those reasons alone. So no real comparison can be made to the existing services. |
Re: Would you rent a TV from VM?
8 Years or so ago i bought the first 37" LCD TV with built in freeview, it was a Sharp and it cost £3000 from richer sounds (it didn't even have a HDMI connection), you could go and buy a 37" LCD TV now for about £300 so there really isn't a market for renting T.V. now, they are dirt cheap.. if you still thought you couldn't afford this you could go to bright house and get proper ripped off.
