The listings are poor and are subject ,to change very quickly on ESPN America as well. I usually record Sports Nation I checked last night and confirmed it was on at 9 am this morning. When I came down this morning at 9am ESPNA were showing the Ice Hockey play offs.

Just seen its on at 2pm on VM EPG. Never the less the ESPNA guide said 9 am.

My epg has it set to record at 2 pm.

Wow, that response is a joke! You're right, it certainly isn't your job as a customer to make sure the EPG is correct.

This EPG problem is also effecting the new TiVo box. VM really need to get this sorted as a priority, if Sky can get it right then Virgin Media & TiVo have no excuse either!

I know. Whatever problem I have encountered with VM services, I am always asked to do all the work. I don't get paid by VM, so why the hell should I?! I've told them the problem, they should work on finding out what is causing it! Exactly right- if Sky can keep their EPG up to date, VM need to do it to be able to compete.

That's the benefit of having a team who provide dynamic EPG data as Sky do albeit not on all channels but certainly on channels live coverage is provided.

I have always said I find it breathtaking Tivo dosen't provide this and I don't care what excuses people throw out (it's not available in the US blah blah, who cares?), it is an ancient way of doing things but almost forgiveable with V+, I well thought Tivo would have addressed this. Especially as you pay extra for the EPG services.

Dismal. I might be wrong but I read you can't even add 'live' padding through remote record so if setting a recording away from home you have to hope extra time isn't required. You have to record the next programme to be confident, that's a joke in my opinion.

It looks like it affects all 3 ESPN channels, there is someone else complaining over on Virgin's forum.

Not acceptable with how high subs are for digital TV these days.

The ESPN EPG data seems fine on Sky. Before I switched I used to sometimes use the Sky mobile app for ESPN because the data was so rubbish on VM.

And whilst it's only a minor niggle it would help if they flagged ESPN programmes as being native HD in the EPG as sometimes it was hard to tell whether it was just a good upscaled picture or average HD. Maybe they do now but they didn't when I had XL, at least on V+ anyway.

Hopefully when they start broadcasting ESPN 2 and ESPN News the overflow of programmes will even out and stop schedule changes.

IF they ever launch them.

I have only ever read that rumour from one source and it just gets quoted and requoted.

Personally I don't think they will launch anytime soon but that's just my opinion.

News maybe not so, but 2 most definitely. When you start asking your viewers what they want to watch (live) then you know you've got to do something about it.

I suppose you have a point but personally i'm still not convinced that over a week of viewing ESPN needs a second channel just yet.

Content is still pretty thin on the ground at times for me and that is no criticism as it dosen't pretend to be Sky Sports, it is what it is.

ESPN America EPG content was totally off all weekend. Wanted to record the live Baseball but only got NHL showing on the guides. Odd thing is that my printed copy of TV Quick shows the correct programs but of course I need the EPG to be correct before I can set a recording. I know I could use manual recording but that's a lot of hours to try and cover when a 3 hour baseball game might be on.
If a pre-printed TV guide is correct there's really no excuse to be so far off on the EPG content.

Just checked ESPN America's listings site and it's the same as the Virgin EPG??

http://www.espnamerica.com/gb/f1/tv-schedule

EDIT: This coming weekend looks wrong. I'll update in a minute if I raise a ticket.

Ok, ticket raised 1592761.

TiVo is correct, but V+HD is not.
