Thanks, you're so kind.

The XL L caused me, my wife and our child confusion while trying to find stuff to watch. Was L a subset of XL, or was XL just the extra bits that weren't in L?

I'm a software developer, and if we had this kind of entirely unnecessary menu structure in our product we wouldn't get away with it.

Surely most people know what package they are on though? :)

DF, you've missed the point or not read my post. If VM think it's acceptable, ok, I won't make a fuss.

I guess it depends how old the child is ;)

Seriously though it wouldn't be a problem for me but I can see why it might be a bit confusing for some people.

I would politely say it isn't ideal.

How can it be confusing?.its very simple. If you are XL you select XL,if L select L.Everything that is in L is In XL.Its L what has not got the full listings, the idea is anyone on L will then enjoj the tv choice on demand and then upgrade to XL to get more channells and more on demand etc.Simple, and im not a software developer.

How entirely rubbish. And it would have been useful if VM had explained this, rather than let the user's puzzle over the new menus.

Roll on TiVo.

Explain it? It's hardly a mensa puzzle is it?

Is that speedtest result a mensa puzzle :)

How do you get those upload speeds, I thought it was 10mb on the 100mb package?

Very impressive all the same.

Sorry mate, I'm not saying you don't have a point, I just don't see it being a real issue :)

I guess it makes less sense to XL subscribers as they get all the content already.

It works as a barker for L customers to upgrade to XL too, I guess.

Kids tend to be very smart when it comes to things like that, in my experience! :D

Nice.jib e. but.missed the point.again,

How about lets put more sub menu navigation on, like for your name, or your region or your BB package or other stuff that is completely irrelevant to me as an XL customer. That would equally be understandable, but pointless and annoying to the user.

OK, I'll withdraw confusing, but still assert it's pointless and bad UI design (that's the point I was making about being a software engineer.

Forget it. I'm obviously absurdly, ridiculously and entirely wrong on this. Note to self, don't quetsion the V+ menu system.

I think you've pointed out a limitation in our software though :)

Personally, I haven't had a problem but it is bad design to put a pointless option on the menu (pointless at least for XL customers). As for people always complaining - it might be better to look at it as constructive criticism that will help VM improve the service.

IF you read through these forums regularly you might possibly find that there are people who have some really awful situations with their VM services and it takes some effort and time for them to be sorted out.
Then there are those who seem to go out of their way to find issues to complain about.
It does tend to make one a little weary and possibly cynical at times.;)

Agreed. I personally see it as a complete non issue. After your first visit to that menu, you know exactly where to go next time. The really smart people probably worked it out on the first visit :D
